Tobias Harris
Tobias Harris has 19 points in loss to Cavaliers
Tue, Oct 14, 2025, 5:14 PM
Tobias Harris had 19 points (5-of-11 FGs, 7-of-9 FTs), five rebounds, one assist, one block and two three-pointers against the Cavaliers on Tuesday.
Analysis: Harris was excellent against the Cavaliers on Tuesday. Without Cade Cunningham and Jaden Ivey, the 33-year-old power forward was the primary scoring option for the Pistons. He made 5-of-11 attempts from the field and went 7-of-9 from the free throw line. Harris is in line for another significant role with the Pistons this year, making him a nice selection in the middle rounds of fantasy basketball drafts.
Ausar Thompson
Ausar Thompson fills up stat sheet in loss to Cavs
Tue, Oct 14, 2025, 4:04 PM
Ausar Thompson had nine points (4-of-7 FGs, 1-of-5 FTs), five rebounds, four assists, one steal and one block against the Cavaliers on Tuesday.
Analysis: Thompson has to be one of the best players in the league that struggles as much as he does shooting. The 22-year-old small forward didn't even attempt a three-pointer against the Cavaliers and was 1-of-5 from the free throw line. Thompson is 7-of-17 from the free throw line in three preseason games this year and a 62 percent free throw shooter for his career. He could make a serious leap into stardom with improved shooting, but for now the Pistons will likely have to rely on Jaden Ivey, Duncan Robinson and Caris LeVert for outside shooting.
Isaiah Stewart
Isaiah Stewart starts again, scores eight points
Thu, Oct 9, 2025, 5:17 PM
Isaiah Stewart accumulated eight points (3-of-6 FGs, 1-of-2 FTs), five rebounds, one assist and one three-pointer in Thursday's loss to the Bucks.
Analysis: Stewart, who missed the final five games of the Pistons' first-round playoff series with the Knicks due to a knee injury, has started both of Detroit's preseason games. Starter Jalen Duren has been out, so this is not a case of Beef Stew taking the lead in a competition for that role. Having failed to crack the top 100 in any of his first five seasons, the best-case scenario for Stewart would be to provide consistent late-round value. However, he isn't a player who should be selected in standard league drafts.
Cade Cunningham
Cade Cunningham records 26/6/6/2 stat line
Thu, Oct 9, 2025, 5:13 PM
Cade Cunningham finished Thursday's loss to the Bucks with 26 points (8-of-14 FGs, 8-of-8 FTs), six rebounds, six assists, two steals and two three-pointers.
Analysis: Based on his performances in Detroit's first two preseason games, Cunningham could be in for a massive 2025-26. Thursday night, he only needed 19 minutes to do his damage, playing efficiently as a scorer and playmaker for his teammates. Detroit did not have its full rotation in Milwaukee, as Jalen Duren, Jaden Ivey and Tobias Harris were all inactive. Yet that did not keep Cunningham from having another excellent outing. Turnovers have been an issue in the past, lowering his value in nine-cat formats. But managers competing in eight-cat leagues should not hesitate to select Cunningham with a first-round pick.
Duncan Robinson
Duncan Robinson records 10/5/2/3 line vs. Memphis
Mon, Oct 6, 2025, 5:14 PM
Duncan Robinson recorded 10 points (4-of-8 FGs), five rebounds, two assists, three steals and two three-pointers in Monday's win over the Grizzlies.
Analysis: With Tim Hardaway Jr. in Denver and Malik Beasley no longer in the Pistons' plans, Robinson was brought in via offseason trade due to Detroit's need for perimeter shooting. While he did have his moments in Miami, a change of scenery may benefit the veteran sharpshooter. Robinson's eight shot attempts were tops among Pistons reserves on Monday, with Caris LeVert (two points on 1-of-8 shooting and one assist) also hitting that number. Robinson will remain a specialist in deeper fantasy leagues, but he may have more consistent opportunities to produce in Detroit than he did in his final seasons with the Heat.
Cade Cunningham
Cade Cunningham goes for 20 points in 19 minutes
Mon, Oct 6, 2025, 5:14 PM
Cade Cunningham tallied 20 points (8-of-11 FGs, 2-of-3 FTs), three rebounds, four assists, two steals and two three-pointers in Monday's win over the Grizzlies.
Analysis: Less than a month after the Pistons' 2024-25 campaign concluded, Pistons lead executive Trajan Langdon told Cunningham that he wanted the franchise cornerstone to be in “elite shape” this season. He looked sharp in Monday's preseason opener, taking over in the second quarter to spearhead a 40-9 Pistons run. He's receiving first-round attention in fantasy drafts and with good reason, as Cunningham played a career-high 70 games last season. As long as Cunningham stays healthy, he can provide top-10 fantasy value regardless of league format.
Jaden Ivey
Jaden Ivey (leg) plays 14 minutes in return Monday
Mon, Oct 6, 2025, 5:13 PM
Jaden Ivey (leg) amassed seven points (2-of-5 FGs, 2-of-2 FTs), one rebound, one assist and one three-pointer in Monday's win over the Grizzlies.
Analysis: Monday's exhibition may not have counted toward official records, but it was a big day for Ivey. The Pistons guard was on the floor in game action for the first time since New Year's Day, when he suffered a fractured fibula during a game against the Magic. Unsurprisingly, Pistons head coach JB Bickerstaff did not push Ivey or any of the starters too far against the Grizzlies, but the playing time should increase as the regular season gets closer. Before his injury, Ivey shot a career-best 40.9 percent from beyond the arc. While the Pistons did add Duncan Robinson and Caris LeVert during the offseason, they'll need Ivey to continue on that trajectory, especially with fellow starter Ausar Thompson (5/5/3/2/1) not being much of a perimeter shooter.
Ausar Thompson
Pistons looking to put ball in Ausar's hands
Mon, Sep 29, 2025, 7:39 AM
Ku Khalil
Pistons coach JB Bickerstaff said they're exploring more ways to get the ball in Ausar Thompson's hands.
Analysis: He described Thompson as a “nightmare” with the ball in his hands, but it sounds like it was meant to be a positive description, even if that could sound negative. Thompson was spectacular in limited action last season and should take a big leap in year three. If they're going to put an emphasis on getting him involved on offense, he could end up taking a step towards becoming an elite player in fantasy basketball.
Malik Beasley
Shams: Beasley no longer ‘target' of investigation
Fri, Aug 22, 2025, 3:07 AM
ESPN
ESPN's Shams Charania reports that Malik Beasley's lawyers say their client is no longer the target of a federal gambling investigation.
Analysis: Beasley appeared poised to cash in at the start of free agency after an excellent 2024-25 season with the Pistons. However, just before he could agree to a three-year, $42 million contract to remain in Detroit, it was reported that the US District Attorney's Office was investigating him due to gambling allegations related to NBA games and prop bets during the 2023-24 season. The Pistons pulled the offer off the table, and other reports regarding Beasley's financial troubles would come to light. “Months after this investigation commenced, Malik remains uncharged and is not the target of this investigation,” attorney Steve Haney told ESPN. “An allegation with no charge, indictment or conviction should never have the catastrophic consequence this has caused Malik. This has literally been the opposite of the presumption of innocence.” It should be noted that, while Beasley is no longer the target of the federal investigation, that does not mean he can't be charged at a later date. Detroit has addressed its wing needs this offseason through the additions of Caris LeVert and Duncan Robinson, not to mention Jaden Ivey's return from a broken leg. And with many other teams lacking significant cap space, Beasley may have to take a smaller deal for the 2025-26 season than anticipated before free agency began.
Javonte Green
Shams: Pistons to sign Javonte Green to contract
Mon, Aug 11, 2025, 4:53 AM
Shams Charania
ESPN's Shams Charania reports the Pistons are finalizing a one-year agreement with G/F Javonte Green.
Analysis: After three-plus seasons with the Bulls, Green split the 2024-25 season between New Orleans and Cleveland. In 68 total games, the 6-foot-5 wing averaged 5.1 points, 3.2 rebounds and 1.0 steals in 18.5 minutes. While Green did start 19 games last season, 18 with the injury-riddled Pelicans, the production was not consistent enough to make him a player worth holding on fantasy rosters. That's unlikely to change in 2025-26 given Detroit's depth.
Colby Jones
Shams: Colby Jones joins Pistons on two-way deal
Wed, Jul 23, 2025, 3:49 PM
Shams Charania
ESPN's Shams Charania reports Colby Jones has signed a two-way contract with the Pistons.
Analysis: Jones was acquired via trade by the Thunder and subsequently waived last month. The 23-year-old shooting guard averaged 8.7 points, 4.3 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.3 steals in 15 games for the Wizards last year. While the Pistons are a playoff team with a deep rotation, Jones will serve as valuable depth in Detroit.
Bobi Klintman
Bobi Klintman has 20 points in win over Heat
Thu, Jul 17, 2025, 12:51 PM
Bobi Klintman had 20 points (7-of-11 FGs), four rebounds, one assist, two steals, one block and three three-pointers in the Pistons' 108-88 victory over the Heat on Thursday.
Analysis: Klintman needed a big performance to salvage what was an otherwise disappointing Summer League. While Klintman's path to significant playing time on the playoff-bound Pistons remains cloudy, the upside in his game is apparent. He appeared in just eight games for the Pistons in his rookie season last year, but his four-year contract signed last July should give him an inside track to a roster spot.
Duncan Robinson
Shams: DET adds Duncan Robinson via sign & trade
Tue, Jul 1, 2025, 12:28 PM
Shams Charania
ESPN's Shams Charania reports the Pistons signed Duncan Robinson to a three-year, $48 million deal.
Analysis: Having exercised his $20 million early termination option on Sunday, Robinson's chances of staying with the Heat were slim. On Tuesday, he found his next home, with the Pistons acquiring the veteran sharpshooter via sign-and-trade. In exchange for Robinson, the Pistons sent Simone Fontecchio to Miami. The Heat's franchise leader in three-pointers made, Robinson averaged 11.0 points, 2.3 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 2.6 three-pointers per game last season. With Malik Beasley being the subject of a gambling probe and Tim Hardaway Jr. leaving the team to sign with the Nuggets, adding Robinson gives Detroit a valuable three-point shooter heading into next season.
Caris LeVert
Shams: Pistons sign Caris LeVert to two-year deal
Mon, Jun 30, 2025, 1:38 PM
Shams Charania
ESPN's Shams Charania reports the Pistons signed G/F Caris LeVert to a two-year, $29 million contract.
Analysis: The former University of Michigan standout is headed back to the state, as he has reportedly agreed to a deal with the Pistons. With Malik Beasley the subject of a gambling probe, Detroit could not afford not to add a bench scorer to their rotation. Between Cleveland and Atlanta, LeVert appeared in 64 games last season, averaging 12.1 points, 3.2 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 1.7 three-pointers per game. LeVert finished the season ranked outside the top 150 in nine-cat formats and should again be a late-round option in standard league drafts.
Paul Reed
Shams: Pistons sign Paul Reed to two-year contract
Mon, Jun 30, 2025, 12:35 PM
Shams Charania
ESPN's Shams Charania reports F/C Paul Reed has agreed to a two-year, $11 million deal to remain with the Pistons.
Analysis: After appearing in 82 games as a member of the 76ers during the 2023-24 season, Reed made 45 appearances for the Pistons in 2024-25. He averaged 4.1 points and 2.7 rebounds in 9.7 minutes per game, primarily serving as the third-string center behind Jalen Duren and Isaiah Stewart. Reed will likely take on a similar role in 2025-26, making him a player who should not be selected in most fantasy league drafts.
Malik Beasley
Malik Beasley investigated for betting allegations
Sun, Jun 29, 2025, 6:02 AM
Shams Charania
ESPN's Shams Charania reports the US District Attorney's Office is investigating Malik Beasley due to gambling allegations related to NBA games and prop bets.
Analysis: It's important to note that Beasley has not been charged with a crime. However, this is a serious development for a player who will be one of the top available free agents on the market when free agency begins on Monday. Appearing in all 82 games, Beasley averaged 16.3 points, 2.6 rebounds, 1.7 assists, 0.9 steals and 3.9 three-pointers for the Pistons. , Beasley and the Pistons discussed a three-year, $42 million deal before the investigation came to light. Those talks have been paused. This situation also impacts starter Tim Hardaway Jr., who will be an unrestricted free agent.
Dennis Schroder
Stein: Kings seen as leader for Dennis Schroder
Wed, Jun 25, 2025, 1:30 AM
Marc Stein
NBA Insider Marc Stein reports the Kings are “already being painted as a likely leading suitor for Dennis Schroder.”
Analysis: Filling the void left by trading away franchise point guard De'Aaron Fox is not an easy task, and Schroder certainly isn't a long-term solution. However, he is a legitimate lead playmaking option and could run the offense. That would likely result in both Malik Monk and Keon Ellis coming off the bench, barring other moves. Sacramento would be a strong landing spot for Schroder to provide fantasy value, especially as a source of assists.
Cade Cunningham
DET wants Cunningham in ‘elite shape' next season
Sun, May 11, 2025, 7:54 AM
Detroit News
Pistons lead executive Trajan Langdon said recently that the team wants Cade Cunningham to be in “elite shape” next season.
Analysis: Langdon's words, which were told to Cunningham directly during his exit meeting before the executive discussed the matter with the media, should not be seen as an indictment of the Pistons' point guard. He played in a career-high 70 games in 2024-25, leading Detroit to its first postseason appearance since 2019. Expectations will rise for Cunningham and the Pistons, meaning he has to be even better in the future. “The big thing for him, and we talked to him about it, get into elite shape,” Langdon said, according to the Detroit News. “He is incredibly skilled and talented. He understands the leadership of it. He now has a little bit of late-season and playoff experience, he knows how it feels. So, now, he has an understanding of what he is training for in the summer. If you have never experienced playoff basketball, you don't understand the level you have to go to. He should be training for the first and second rounds of the playoffs. Not just Game 45 (of the regular season) anymore.” Entering this season with a Yahoo! ADP of 27, Cunningham was a top-10 player in eight-cat formats. He'll likely come off the board during the second round of standard league drafts, which is reasonable for a player of his caliber.
Malik Beasley
Malik Beasley has 20 points, six threes in Game 6
Thu, May 1, 2025, 4:38 PM
Malik Beasley had 20 points (6-of-13 FGs), two rebounds, two assists and six three-pointers against the Knicks in Game 6 on Thursday.
Analysis: Beasley provided a spark in the first half as he came off the bench and made six threes. Five of his threes came in the second quarter, which the Pistons won by 16. Beasley's biggest shot was a buzzer-beater before the end of the first half, which gave the Pistons as two-point lead. With the Pistons down three at the end of the fourth quarter, Beasley couldn't corral a pass from Cade Cunningham, resulting in a turnover and sealing the win for the Knicks. The 28-year-old shooting guard is set to hit free agency this offseason, but Beasley has expressed interest in staying with the Pistons and an agreement on a contract that makes sense for both sides wouldn't be surprising.
Cade Cunningham
Cade Cunningham has 23/7/8 line in crushing loss
Thu, May 1, 2025, 4:37 PM
Cade Cunningham had 23 points (9-of-22 FGs), seven rebounds, eight assists, three steals and one block against the Knicks in Game 6 on Thursday.
Analysis: While Cunningham led the Pistons in scoring with 23 points, he didn't have his best game offensively in what was a must-win game for the Pistons. He was more successful on drives to the basket, while his three-point shooting left much to be desired. Only Malik Beasley had more than one three-pointer for Detroit, with Cunningham missing all eight of his three-point attempts. It was a frustrating end to what was ultimately an inspiring season from both Cunningham and the Pistons as a team.
